Indian actress and reality television star Shilpa Shetty reacted furiously to allegations she was involved in a film shoot that breached protocol at a Hindu temple.
Authorities at the Sakhigopal temple in Puri last week lodged a police complaint about the Bollywood star and her crew filming inside the sacred building, press reports said.
But Shetty, who shot to fame over a race row on the British television show Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, dismissed the charges as “preposterous.”
“We didn’t even shoot in the temple, and the channel obviously took permission to shoot at the footsteps without which we couldn’t have proceeded,” she wrote on her blog on Saturday.

Whereas only a few years ago, Bollywood stars were still responding to fan mail, signing photographs of themselves and sending them across India by post, the industry’s biggest names are now keeping followers up to date via the web.
Actresses from Shilpa Shetty and Celina Jaitley to actors Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are posting photos, videos and their thoughts on films and life on personal websites.

Though few other stars may have had their apprehensions about appearing on actor Salman Khan hosted reality game show 10 Ka Dum, it didn’t take a minute for actress Shilpa Shetty to give her for the show. Not many are aware that Shilpa shares a special friendship bond with Salman since quite a few years. It is also said that Shilpa is donating all the money won on the show.
Sources reveal, “Shilpa has great regard for Salman. There have been times when Sallu has stood by her and vice-versa. The two became good friends when Shilpa did Sohail Khan’s Auzaar with Salman in the lead opposite her. They have done quite a few films together after that and hence share a special bonding.”
“Shilpa has generously given away all the money whenever she has won in reality shows. She has always believed in the theory that giving in abundance will attract in abundance. She candidly talks to Salman about her relationship to beau Raj Kundra and Salman made most of it during the show so much so that their camaraderie comes alive on the screen. Few Mumbai tabloids had claimed that the affair between Bollywood’s supermodel Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapur had gone kaput.
However, the couple has been spotted at various spots of the city after that.
Sources inform that just after the story of their recent split was out, Priyanka and Shahid were seen having cosy lunch at a restaurant very close to their residence in Versova, Mumbai. In fact Priyanka Chopra’s brother was also seen accompanying them. Later the same night the two of them were spotted having dinner at China House.

Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone were made to dance on the streets of Kochi when they were shooting there recently for their film Karthik
A group of 20-25 youngsters landed at the Kochi Fort where they were shooting and did not allow them to shoot until both Deepika and Farhan danced with them to the tunes of Rock On!!.
Our source present on the sets said, “We had all the necessary permissions to shoot. However, we never thought that crowds would be an issue. Deepika is there films old and Farhan has done just two. South Indian films are more popular in Kochi and we never thought that the crowd would bother with Deepika or Farhan. However, a group of youngsters landed on location and requested the actors to dance with them.”

Priyanka Chopra has signed her first Yash Raj film and says she was completely bowled over by the script of “Pyaar Impossible”, penned by Uday Chopra, who also plays male lead in the love story.
“It’s the only script I’ve liked in recent months. I can’t tell you much about the film’s plot. But when I heard the script, I jumped. I’ve been hearing a lot of scripts because I’ve really not been sure about what to do after Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘What’s Your Raashee?’.
“When I heard the script for Uday’s film, I got so excited. It was….so beautiful! Any actress’ dream role. I reacted as a member of the audience,” Priyanka said.

Indian epic film Jodhaa Akbar scooped top honours in India’s version of the Oscars at a ceremony in the Chinese gambling haven of Macau Saturday.
Some of Indian cinema’s biggest names including Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan graced the green carpet, as thousands of fans screamed and jostled for autographs at the annual IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) awards.
The night’s big winner in an awards ceremony replete with circus performers, fireworks and high-octane Bollywood dance routines was Jodhaa Akbar, about a 16th century Muslim emperor who marries a Hindu princess.
The film picked up awards including best picture and best director for Ashutosh Gowariker, while heart-throb Hrithik Roshan won best male actor and A.R. Rahman best music direction.
The film’s director said the central theme of religious tolerance was a vital one for contemporary Indian society.
